Synagogue Site Gifting Ceremony - Friday, October 15, 2021

On October 15, 2021, in the Hartford offices of the Connecticut State Preservation Office (SHPO) at 1:00 P.M., The New England Hebrew Farmers of the Emanuel Society (NEHFES) and The Archeological Conservancy (TAC) will cosign a Donation Agreement that gifts the synagogue parcel of the "NEHFES Synagogue and Creamery Site" in Chesterfield, Connecticut to TAC. TAC is a nonprofit organization that acquires and preserves significant archaeological sites in the United States. By placing the parcel in the hands of TAC, NEHFES hopes to ensure that the site is protected and properly managed in perpetuity.

On January 4, 2022, the new title will be filed in the Town of Montville Land Records, 130 years from the day when the land was first purchased from Ellen A. and Charles H. Tillotson for $70.00 on January 4, 1892!
